Conclave Review
Conclave is shaping up to be one of the strongest movies of this year! We caught an early screening of it, so check out our review before it hits cinemas this January!

Control
Control is intriguing only in the fact that someone was willing to let Spacey back into the fold. Outside of that, the film is poorly acted, poorly edited, poorly shot, and poorly written. A complete travesty, barely consumable as a hate-watch. Avoid at all costs.

And it’s bigger, longer, uncut!

Wicked Little Letters Review
Rambunctious, hilarious, crude, crass and surprising, Wicked Little Letters is a wicked little time in the cinema.

The 2024 Alliance Francaise French Film Festival
One of the best movies of this century, Dune: Part Two never fails to impress. If you have to crawl across the burning sands of Arrakis to see this film, do it - you won’t be disappointed.

Dune: Part Two Review
One of the best movies of this century, Dune: Part Two never fails to impress. If you have to crawl across the burning sands of Arrakis to see this film, do it - you won’t be disappointed.

Drive Away Dolls Review
A rip-roaring, fast paced, outspoken comedic crime farce, Drive Away Dolls is a swing for the fences piece of cinema. It’s a blast, but a relatively un-impactful one.

Bob Marley: One Love Review
Bob Marley graces the big screen once again in this serviceable, if uninspired, biopic.

The Colour Purple Review
A musical update on the classic tale hits all the right notes.

Mean Girls Review
This updated adaptation of the classic comedy coasts by on love of the first enjoyably enough, and adds a couple of funny jokes, but never recaptures the magic.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 Review
Eric Bana continues to be magnetic as Aaron Falk, but Force of Nature suffers under the weight of its source material.

Boy Swallows Universe Review
Whimsical, fun, gory and mysterious, Boy Swallows Universe is a wonderfully engaging Aussie series.

Anyone But You Review
Funny and carried by the charm and chemistry between the two leads, Anyone But You mixes genuine laughs with beautiful Sydney scenery.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Review
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom goes down with the DCEU ship, whimpering on the way out.

Ferrari Review
Ferrari crashes and burns by the end, completely missing what makes Ferrari worth a biopic, and delving into the least interesting parts of his life. Baffling creative decisions, some truly poor CGI, and an array of deeply flawed Italian accents characterize what should have been a film about the man who invented Ferrari.

The Boys In The Boat Review
There’s something quite lovely about this film, irrespective of how cliche it feels. They don’t make movies like this anymore - a sort of Dead Poets Society on water.

The Holdovers Review
The Holdovers is a beautiful story, told beautifully, with a pair of wonderfully moving, nuanced performances.

Napoleon Review
Sumptuous and expansive, Ridley Scott’s Napoleon is a gorgeously told epic, but struggles to truly capture the famed Emperor and his exploits, despite its expansive runtime. Perhaps Napoleon simply did too much to be reduced into a 2 and a half hour film?

Wonka Review
The latest Wonka film is a sweet and skilfully restrained delight, putting a spotlight on storytelling prowess.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Review
This prequel stands as a valiant attempt to expand the Hunger Games universe, offering glimpses into the making of a future tyrant. However, it falters in execution, weighed down by a clunky narrative, uneven character dynamics, and an overextended runtime, making it a middling addition to the franchise.

Trolls: Band Together Review
A sugary, saccharine hit of pop music, wonderful colour, and a story that screams “hey don’t worry too much about me. Just focus on the music and the colour”.

There’s nothing you haven’t seen before here, and the dual role De Niro plays can at times be distracting; but damn it is great to watch him play a mobster.
